NH OUTDOOR INDUSTRY DAY
On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Granite Outdoor Alliance and New Hampshire's Department of Business Economic Affairs hosted a historic press conference at Manchester’s Veterans Memorial Park. Governor Kelly Ayotte officially declared June 10 as "New Hampshire Outdoor Industry Day." This proclamation highlights the economic impact of New Hampshire’s $3.9 billion outdoor industry, which supports over 30,000 jobs and 1,000 small businesses across the state.
(L-R) BEA Commissioner Caswell, Governor Ayotte, GOA Director Tyler Ray, Mayor Ruais, ORID Director Janel Lawton, and NEMO Equipment Founder and CEO Cam Brensinger celebrate the Outdoor Industry Day proclamation.
This day has been years in the making, evolving through a growing partnership with the Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry Development. Since Granite Outdoor Alliance’s founding in 2020, we’ve worked to give outdoor recreation the seat at the table it deserves as a nearly $4 billion industry in New Hampshire. With this recognition, we’ve gained not only visibility, but credibility—and a stronger voice in advocating for our members.

Workforce Toolkit
for the Outdoor Lifestyle.
One of the day’s biggest highlights was the launch of the Workforce Toolkit for the Outdoor Lifestyle, developed by the Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry Development (ORID) within the Department of Business and Economic Affairs (BEA). This new resource equips New Hampshire businesses with tools to leverage outdoor recreation in their workforce recruitment and retention strategies—turning our natural assets into a strategic advantage.
The Toolkit’s tactics are organized into five distinct categories:
Recruitment & Employer Branding uses storytelling to demonstrate how a company embraces the outdoor lifestyle.
Outdoor Recreation Company Culture & Values Integration makes outdoor recreation a meaningful part of workplace culture.
Outdoor Recreation Benefits & Programs shows that the company invests in balance and quality of life.
Career and Skills Development fosters long-term growth, engagement, and loyalty.
Community Resources Model helps potential employees envision a well-rounded and fulfilling life—not just a job.
Rock City.
Outdoor Industry Day highlighted the cross-sector collaboration among state, local, and industry leaders. Nearly 50 New Hampshire brand and nonprofits, including service providers, retailers, conservation groups, educators, and coalitions, joined the Rock City Vendor Village to give the public an opportunity to engage with the outdoor sector.
