Granite Outdoor Alliance Marks Five Years with New Impact Report and Vision for New Hampshire’s Outdoor Economy
North Conway, N.H. — Granite Outdoor Alliance (GOA) today released its five-year impact report, marking an important milestone for the statewide organization and highlighting the growing role of outdoor recreation in New Hampshire’s economy, workforce, communities, and quality of life.
Founded in 2020, GOA was created to bring businesses, nonprofits, communities, and public partners together around a shared belief: outdoor recreation is more than lifestyle. It is economic strategy. It is critical infrastructure. It is business. And it can help address some of the state’s most pressing challenges.
Over the past five years, GOA has grown into a statewide convener for New Hampshire’s outdoor industry, now representing 130 business members and working across sectors to strengthen collaboration, elevate shared priorities, and build momentum around the outdoor economy. Through partnerships, initiatives, storytelling, events, and strategic engagement, GOA has helped raise the profile of outdoor recreation as a serious driver of economic and community development in the state.
“Over the past five years, we’ve helped elevate outdoor recreation as a serious economic and community development strategy for New Hampshire,” said Tyler Ray, Director of Granite Outdoor Alliance. “This report reflects how far we’ve come, but it also points to where we need to go next. The opportunity is real, and realizing it will take focus, partnership, and leadership.”
The impact report reflects on GOA’s first five years of work while pointing toward the next phase of its mission: turning momentum into stronger alignment, sharper priorities, and lasting impact. It reinforces a central message that outdoor recreation is not a side conversation in New Hampshire’s future. It is part of the foundation.
“At its core, this report is about progress and possibility,” Ray said. “We’ve come a long way in five years. It’s important to look back at what has been built so we can move forward with greater purpose, clarity, and confidence.
The release comes as GOA continues its strategic planning efforts and works with partners across business, government, education, nonprofit, and community sectors to help define the next chapter of support for New Hampshire’s outdoor economy.
